Originally, Ancient Ocean Company was founded in 2003 by a healing arts practitioner on the principal of offering his clients a therapy based on the ancient primordial sea, the original building blocks of life, in essence, the salt of the first oceans in its purest most unadulterated form.

While on a search in the Himalayan region for salt deposits from the Tethys ocean, this health practitioner happened to strike up a friendship with a member of a salt family monopoly that showed him the oldest salt deposits in the world. Subsequently they secured the rights to the rarest, purest salt on earth and began a campaign of direct to consumer internet marketing.

After developing a small niche market, Ancient Ocean Company was acquired in 2008 and restructured by 72 Equity Partners, (www.72equity.com) to capitalize on creating an infrastructure and developing a global distribution network for'Himalayan' salt.

Ancient Ocean Company is dedicated to the mining, packaging and global distribution of the world's highest grade of 'Himalayan' salt.
